With tanks and other armored vehicles-both aerial and ground-becoming an increasing threat, Vyntraskan general Neil Creed felt that Vyntraska needed a way for infantry to defend themselves when Sentinels or Tankers weren't available. The first incarnation was a multi-shot rocket launcher. This was somewhat effective, but in the end proved to be too complicated to operate. Next, they tried an automatic grenade launcher. This too, was highly ineffective. This current incarnation, the V8 Tank Rifle, was the final result. Based off of a gun immigrants sometimes brought with them to Vyntraska called the Boys, this weapon fires enormous bullets with an explosive core. This round was originally incredibly slow and by the time it got to the target-outside of 400 yards- the target had gotten out of the path. Using a mixture of chemicals in powder form, this was rectified however. The bullets cannot be fired from any other kind of gun, because of the immense recoil generated from the round. Most of this weapon is designed to absorb the recoil. In other guns-say, a mounted MG-the 18x130 round would break the weapon. Even in the V8, firing more than two shots in rapid succession risks melting the barrel, harming the operator, or worse: Breaking the gun's internal workings. Therefore, roughly half a second must be taken to safely use the weapon. Once deployed, property damage from tank rounds went down by almost 50 percent, as they were being taken out before they could make an impact. A single shot from the Creed Rifle-named for the general who commissioned it-can take out a tank if aimed underneath it, or at the treads. A scope can be mounted to it, but normally isn't done as the immense recoil throws off the scope after a single shot. This rifle has been used by the Fangs, the Ulfran military, the Kroytkan Armed Forces, and even the Fordorsian military.

Most of the recoil reduction happens within the gun itself, the stock being hydraulic as to further reduce the strain on the user. Not that it is advised to use this weapon this weapon off it's bipod. You may break something.
Thanks. I knew the AT rifle you were talking about, I just never heard it called the LAthur. I like to think that AT rifles could've been big if they were just refined, but I aim to please! And I'm glad you like it. I'm thinking the next weapon I make is a MG based off the RPD. That's partially thanks to you, as you got me looking at weapons, and I uncovered a fact that surprised me, the RPD was built before the AK-47, and was the first weapon to use the modern 7.62x39mm.
Awesome weapon though. :3
